Our commitment to you

At 5874, we care about people and we want to prioritise you as an individual. We can provide you with the skills and opportunity to develop and reach your full potential – what’s most important is that you’re a good fit and willing to learn – what you don’t know we can teach you. If you feel you are up for this role, then we want to hear from you.

Our expectations of you

A creative problem solver with a natural can do attitude. There has never been a box to ‘think out of’ because boxes get in the way unless they’re useful to solve the problem - like climbing on them

Seeking out and discovering the best solutions for everything you come across.

A confident individual who can’t remember the last time they paid a visit to their comfort zone.

You enjoy throwing around ideas and creating possibilities, happily putting them up to the test of whether they will work or not. Good ideas not only have to fly, but they also have to stay up there no matter what gets thrown at them.

You already have your own ‘projects’ solving those things you’ve identified to improve everyday existence.

How We Work

Here at 5874 Commerce, we want to support our colleagues to do their best work, have a good work life balance, work flexibly and live anywhere, whilst staying connected and getting the job done.

Having a home where the team can come together is important to us so we will never be a fully remote company, but if you’re the right fit then we want you to work for us whether you live in Birmingham or the Bermuda Triangle.  So don’t let your address stop you from applying!

The Role

We’re looking for a Digital Solutions Developer to join our multi-award-winning agency headquartered in Birmingham, UK.

Solution Developers are creative problem solvers whose expertise allows them to guide complex projects across the entire project experience. As part of the Solutions team, you are heavily involved in working with our eCommerce clients to elicit and define their requirements, understand project needs and then develop and explain the solutions both conceptually and technically to both the client and our production teams.

You’re responsible for consulting with all parties, providing clarity on the project plan and roadmap and guiding its technical implementation. You ensure this implementation meets the requirements and goals to a high standard.

You identify and take on the challenges from project requirements, individually and collaboratively, discover the best ways to resolve and, when necessary, develop a proof-of-concept to inform the development teams and client of its feasibility. ‘Pocking’ will most definitely be a real word in your vocabulary.

This role is an office-based, team and client-facing role with the possibility for flexible working. This position will involve travel to meet and spend time with our global clients.

Responsibilities

Managing the scope of eCommerce projects and timescales, working collaboratively with clients and third-party vendors to align technical solutions with business goals

Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to map out current architecture and understand the client’s business requirements and potential challenges

Work alongside the sales team to create RFP responses and new business proposals

Communicate timescales and deliverables to solutions and developer team

Manage and maintain relationships with third-party vendors

Ensuring delivery and goals are being met by liaising with the sales and project management team throughout the project lifecycle

Managing expectation on what is technically feasible and finding solutions to outstanding and new problems

Diagnosing and identifying aspects of a project or process that can be enhanced or achieved more effectively.

Discovering new ways to solve or enhance ‘items’ identified for improvement. Developing proofs of concepts for the proposed solution.

Interpret and analyse data using analytics tools to report on client site performance and where improvements can be made

Present complex ideas and solutions in a clear, organised, and easy to understand manner both orally and written for non-technical and technical audiences.

Help answer any questions Accounts or Clients may have about a project. Able to explain technical terminology to non-digital stakeholders.

Quality assurance - making sure the product matches the intended vision and intent.

Ability to convey complex subjects in technical terms for a technical audience, as well as conceptually to a non-technical audience

Combining other perspectives in collaborative discourse.
